Demon slayer storyline

The story revolves around Tanjiro Kamado and the type of bond he shares with his younger sister Nezuko who gets turned into a demon. Tanjiro is a kind-hearted young boy who is the oldest among his siblings and lives with his family on the top of the hill, where he sells coal for his daily bread. One day, as usual, he sells coal down the hill, but as soon as he returns, he finds that a man-eating demon slaughters his family.

Luckily, his younger sister Nezuko survives the attack but becomes a demon herself. On trying to save Nezuko, Tanjiro encounters Giyu Tomioka, the highest-ranked member of the Demon Slayer Corps who is specially trained to defeat various types of demons. However, during this encounter, Giyu Tomioka finds out that Nezuko is different from the other demons. Therefore, she attempts to save him rather than devouring him like other demons.

And this is where Giyu Tomioka gives this duo a chance to live and inspires Tanjiro to be a Demon Slayer, avenge the murder of his family, and turn his sister back to human again. This is where the journey of this duo begins.

Previously on demon slayer

Previously on Demon Slayer, we saw that due to violating a rule that says a Demon Slayer cannot carry a Demon, Tanjiro and Nezuko get summoned against the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps where all the high ranked members(Hashiras) are present. However, during this time, Tanjiro and Nezuko are proven innocent. Tanjiro continues his training with two of his friends, Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira, under an insect Hashira named Shinobu Kocho and builds himself.

Later on, as the training of Tanjiro ends, he and his friends Zenistu and Inosuke, along with Nezuko, are assigned a mission on Mugen Train where they are told that they will encounter the Fire Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku. And during this journey, an unfortunate event occurs. During the battle of Kyojiro and Upper Moon demon Akaza, Kyojiro loses his life. And season 2 gets started, all about the events in The Mugen Train.
